Patar White beach is a public beach. And because it is a public beach, it is free for everyone, there's no entrance fee (as far as I know). Locals in Pangasinan can just come over directly at White beach and enjoy the beach for a whole day without even having to spend the night in a resort. Or, if you do intend to stay overnight, you can stay by the shore and build some tents. There you will experience the ultimate back-packing by the sea experience.

When we arrived in White beach, there is like a compound where cars can park their cars for free. There is a small entrance to the beach. This is a bit unlike other public beaches where you can access the beach from different entry points. Before entering, there you will see a small sign which says, Welcome "visitors". We are not entirely sure why there is a need to put quotation marks on visitors but nonetheless, we felt welcomed :)

Once you enter the resort, you will see a coin-operated videoke machine by the side, day cottages on the right side with a place to have a barbecue and a stall of shells where you can buy souvenir items from Bolinao. It will remind you of Boracay, only that the stalls are a bit few, around 2-3 according to my memory, and it is less populated.

So, after putting our stuff in a cottage, Brett said that he would be happy to look after our stuff. We were stunned with what we saw.... WHITE... SANDY... CLEAN... BEACH!!! OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!! It is exactly like Boracay, the sand is milky, powdery, white... sooo clean.. SOOO VERY CLEAN!!! No wonder why the people from Pangasinan keeps this place as a secret hideaway, it is simply because they want to maintain the cleanliness of the beach. Very unspoilt, not crowded and less commercialized. Well, enough of the talking and typing... here are some photos to show you the proof!

So to answer the question if we had the chance to swim on the beach?!? Well, OF COURSE! The beach was soo nice, you wouldn't miss swimming on this beach. Joby and Amber took a dip then when they realized to put the sunblock on, we went back to the cottage. The brokeback guys went towards the beach and swam like little kids. I went back to the beach following the brokeback guys.

The water was a bit cold, it was sandy and it had some seaweeds, but the beach was pure and clean that you wouldn't even notice some few rocks. You can actually walk from the shore to the beach and swim on the beach barefooted. You can walk on the beach without even noticing that you are already far from the shore because the water is quite shallow. Picture this, when we were walking on the beach, the water was from our toes to my shoulder then back to my knees.

While on the beach, ofcourse, Joby was with Amber all the time. While Abe and Ivan kept on talking and kidding around like little kids. I was just there listening to them talking and found myself laughing at their conversations. Then Ivan said to Amber "Keep an eye on Kat, we (Abe & Ivan) will just go further". Okay, so was it just me or does Ivan would prefer to have Abe to accompany with while on the beach than with me or atleast with the three of us ?!? I started to get pissed off and just kept my mouth shut all along. Then there I was, just observing and eavesdropping. I felt out of place.

On the shore, Amber decided to bury herself with sand and Joby helped her with it. Since I've been keeping my distance away from Ivan, I went with the 'couple' and observed how Joby does his thing with Amber. Ivan and Abe sat on the other side, playing with the sand. I guess by then, Ivan had already noticed that I don't feel like sitting or going next to him. Quite obvious, I guess, cause by the time Joby took the camera and had our pictures taken, he wouldn't even bother smiling.




And just when we were about to go back to the beach to take a dip, Abe said to me "Nagseselos ka ba sa akin?". I stopped and said, "Huh, hindi no!" Then that's when I started laughing at myself, what a petty thing to feel, me getting envious over a guy, Oh come on! Then, after a while, I felt okay already.

Before leaving the beach and boarding the vehicle, we washed our feet over at a water pumping area. We said goodbye to Dubai, este, Patar White beach, then we were off to our next destination.

Learnings:

1. If three is a crowd, then five is a stampede @_@

2. It is soo weird to get jelous over a guy 0_o

3. Always keep the beaches clean. -- Beach, the landscape, i mean.

4. It would be nice if every public beach would be as clean as the one in Bolinao.
